Before and After 1 (blog-a-day challenge day 10)

I originally did this design as a painting on fabric (see below). I can’t recall for sure, because it was a while ago, but I think I didn’t entirely notice the “hidden” face until I started to work on it digitally in the computer. After that, it seemed appropriate to call the work “wood spirit.” I don’t know if this fits in with any particular mythology, but I’d be interested to find out, if anyone cares to comment with that information.
