I live within walking distance of two to three lakes and yet, I adore this little pond that I can also walk to. The reason I like it so much is that seasonal and weather changes are very obvious due to its small size. In fact, if the weather is very dry, it looks more like a marsh than a pond. It almost makes me want to try plein air painting again. Or at least take pictures from the same viewpoint(s) more regularly.
Here’s the pond, probably at least two-thirds ice/snow covered at the moment:
An offshoot to the other side of the bridge I was standing on. I’m intrigued by the subtle colors in this one: green of the pine trees, reddish tones in the middle, and yellowish bottom right.
And I feel a little like duck paparazzi after seeing this picture. They (the ducks) seem to want to avoid being spotted.
Thanks for stopping by.
