30 Day Design Experiment, 5 of 30

Yesterday, for want of a little less intense designing, I chose a simpler motif. And I had to post it a couple places early because, as I wrote yesterday, “It’s like if someone lived in a house made of Dr. Seuss-ness.” Not 100% sure about the colors, yet – may want more variation between the red and purple. Last night, I ordered 30 design proofs, including this one, so will know in a few weeks. (Spoonflower is moving more slowly these days because of the pandemic.)

First, “Curvy Stripes” on wallpaper (so you can see the Seuss-ness, too!). The design is intended to be used at half-drop, for a little more variation. To give an idea of scale (big!), the second view is about 24″ wide.

Fat quarter, test swatch, yard views at slightly smaller scale (21″ wide) than the wallpaper:

Finally, the original drawing, not entirely colored in yet, done around May 15, 2020:

Again, lots of possibilities for more colorways, perhaps both colorful and more neutral? Please feel free to make color suggestions in the comments.

And, as always, thanks for stopping by!
