💖Joy Journey day 2 of 90💖

I found myself in a predicament today, really two: how to avoid posting twice on IG in one day and whether to post my not very good acrylic painted sketch. It turns out that the solution is to combine the two.

On the first two screens is my contest entry for the "Monochromatic Duvet Covers" design challenge at Spoonflower. (Voting starts Thursday.) I am so very pleased with how this design turned out! It's a combination of complex vector design and a monochromatic watercolor textured background. The third image is of the original artwork, which had serious flaws. Yet I knew that at some point I wanted to take the considerable time it took to turn it into a tight design.

The 4th and last screen shows today's Joy Journey sketch, done in acrylic paint. Not good, yet it has some liveliness and joy within it, IMHO, and the "moon" that showed up unexpectedly near the upper left - when I wiped the sketch before it was dry - is a nice surprise bonus.

Freedom, joy, loving life on this earth, come partly as a result of being willing to embrace imperfection.

Tomorrow I plan to post my morning joy routine. Until then, wishing everyone moments of great joy in their day today.
